2019
Construction work ends and, on December 14, 2019, Uno Maglia opens its second building. A year of consolidation and investments closes beautifully; to reap the benefits in a 2020 of growth.
In March Uno Maglia digitizes its product archive, thus making accessible 32 years of work and passion. The digital archive facilitates the formation of new resources and shortens time to market.
2018
Uno Maglia expands and strengthens by growing to over 100 employees in July. This growth made a second building necessary, which spans a surface area of 4500 m2, next to our current manufacturing site, which is expected to be completed in 2019. The company obtains UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 certification.
2017
Along with the celebrations of our thirtieth anniversary, another record year comes to an end and, thanks to the contribution of 80 employees, Uno Maglia’s turnover exceeds 26 million euro.
2016
The company starts to plan its first digital archive, to make designing more efficient and improve access to the enormous wealth of apparel pieces that we have designed over the years. Uno Maglia has always been staff-focused and was one of the first companies in the Valdarno to sign a Welfare Plan for its employees.
2015
Continual growth means we must expand our spaces: the company designs and opens a new headquarters in Levane, in the municipality of Montevarchi, in the province of Arezzo. A new building spanning 4000 m2, designed around eco-sustainable principles, complete with bright, spacious rooms and a lot of greenery to guarantee efficiency, quality, security and respect for the environment.
2014
Uno Maglia acquires the company RMW2 to expand its product range to men’s beachwear also.
2013
The company continues to invest in innovation by purchasing a new machine for automatic cutting: the “Top Cut 2.5 Freccia” from the FK Group. The Top Cut 2.5 Freccia machine from the FK Group is an innovative automatic conveyor cutting system that allows for every kind of fabric to be cut quickly, drastically reducing electricity consumption.
2012
Employee numbers exceed 50 people and Uno Maglia celebrates 25 years of being in business by setting itself up as a limited company.
2011
Uno Maglia closes the year with record results, confirming its great capacity for growth. With turnover of 12.7 million euro, equal to a 44% increase compared to 2010, the company is one of the leading suppliers of the biggest international luxury groups. These results are due not only to the increase in the quality and performance of the jersey apparel pieces, but also due to our ability to design and produce garments in fine fabrics, such as silk, or innovative textiles, like nylon and neoprene.
2008
Holding Industriale acquires shares and the company changes ownership. This is a holding company that proposes itself as a medium-long term partner to enhance small and medium-sized companies specialised in Italian craftsmanship, with the aim of promoting their growth, internationalisation and generational turnover. Mrs Simonetta Guelfi stays at the company and takes over design.
2003
The company obtains the UNI EN ISO 9001-2000 certification.
2000
The creation of marketed products in jersey and light fabric become increasingly significant with men and women’s T-shirts, dresses and sweatshirts.
1999
Uno Maglia is the first company in the textile and clothing sector to obtain UNI EN ISO 9002-94 certification in the province of Arezzo.
1998
Outstanding technical expertise drives the company to focus its attention fully on Italian craftsmanship by specialising in the manufacture of jersey. This is a strategic change that would have a great impact on the future of the company. The most innovative CAD systems and the model making department become the driving forces within the company, which now boasts a client portfolio that contains the names of the biggest Italian brands.
1996
Uno Maglia changes location and moves to a 3000 m2factory, still located in Terranuova Bracciolini. This building was specially built to best meet company needs, from design through to production.
1994
The company becomes an s.r.l. and the experience gained over the years brings additional success, with the manufacturing of the women’s brand “Lella e Nelson” and collaborations with other emerging designers: WimNeels, So and Pierluigi Fucci.
1992
Our collaboration with various designers evolves and goes from strength to strength and the “Guglielmo Capone” line is created, with the production and sale of a total look for men and women. Thanks to the high quality of its product range, Uno Maglia is able to place its garments in the windows of important luxury brands, while turnover rises considerably.
1990
The company acquires the brand QUID and, with the 1990 spring summer season, starts to send its own samples directly to multi-brand clients, reinforcing its sales network and extending its product range with apparel pieces for men and women.
1987
Mrs. Simonetta Guelfi and Laura Mugnaini found Uno Maglia s.n.c. near to Terranuova Bracciolini, in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany. The choice of location is by no means accidental, as this region is famous for its manufacturing capacities in the fashion sector, especially the textile and apparel industries. The company conquers the market thanks to its handcrafted approach and its meticulous attention to quality and detail.
